Awards

We're not ones for bragging but here are some awards that we have won over the years.

E3 2008 Skateit

Developer Exient has been hard at work on Skate It, and is really trying to capture the look of the console version on the hadheld. The game is still in extremely early alpha stage, but it already looks great. The 3D models are fluid and well detailed, the environments are huge, and the tricks look incredibly realistic. Every time we see a new version of Skate It it looks better than before, and, since we're already impressed with it, we can't wait to see the final product.

Tiger was there on the DS at the start of the system's life back in 2005, but the potential was never really met. His second outing was handled by a completely different development team that knows and understands the hardware and platform, and this team's rendition made Tiger Woods 2008 one of the most thorough portable versions of golf seen on the handheld. We can't wait to see the evolution continue next year.

IGN 2007 Best Developer

Exient has become the silent heroes of Electronic Arts' portable studios. The team is now pretty much EA's go-to guys for nearly all of the company's sports and racing franchises. Exient's been a strong producer of handheld games even back in the Game Boy Advance days, but in 2007 the studio came out with guns blazing, producing solid DS renditions of Tiger Woods, Madden, FIFA, Need for Speed Carbon…and every single one of these games went online. We beg and plead Electronic Arts to continue to use this excellent resource, and to put them on more EA franchises for the Nintendo DS. NHL? Yes please.

Why It Rocked: Sports games aren't exactly the handheld forte, mostly due to the fact that the portable systems don't have the comparative horsepower as the console systems do…and most sports fans want the real deal, not some watered down compromise. But even though FIFA 06 for the Nintendo DS doesn't quite reach PS2-levels of quality and features, it's hard to deny the absolute fun and true-to-the-sport gameplay that's in this on-the-go version.
