Jamie Wotton joins as Creative Marketing Manager, while Becky Pomroy takes up the reins as Social and Community Manager
Dual hires will drive user acquisition and player engagement for Exient Publishing as it ramps activity ahead of 2021 releases
Exient Publishing has strengthened its marketing operations as it continues to position itself as the go-to mobile partner for IP owners in games and entertainment.
Jamie Wotton joins as Creative Marketing Manager, tasked with building out a specialist team and a diversified marketing strategy, encompassing Mobile Ads, Creative and App Store Optimisation (ASO).
Wotton will also work closely with Exient’s leadership team on global strategy for UA methodology, art & design teams on new creative concepts and liaise with media on game previews and reviews.
Becky Pomroy joins as Social and Community Manager after nine years in the games industry working across social media, QA and design.
Pomroy will be responsible for social design, player engagement and support across hit games such as Lemmings Puzzle Adventure, as well as driving deeper social integration across the Exient Publishing portfolio and building influencer partnerships.
Both roles will utilise insights from, and feed into, Exient Publishing’s proprietary back-end data analytics platform, which monitors how players are interacting with its games and UA campaigns across iOS, Android and the web.
The appointments, reporting to Chief Publishing Officer Julian Jones, follow the creation of Exient Publishing in August, which combined the firm’s Sad Puppy and Donut labels under a single banner for all new releases going forward.
Headed up by industry veteran Dave Hawkins, Exient has experienced huge success over the last 18 months with the self-published Lemmings Puzzle Adventure, having previously built its business providing work-for-hire services on market-leading IP including FIFA, Angry Birds, F1 and more.
Earlier this year the company unveiled a new corporate brand identity and is now expanding its headcount across offices in the UK and Malta to support the development and publishing of self-funded mobile games based on IPs from the worlds of games, TV and entertainment. Several titles are already lined up for 2021.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jamie and Becky to the Exient team,” said Exient COO Nusrat Shah. “They will both play hugely important roles as we expand our publishing operations further, through the upcoming releases in our pipeline and via increased player engagement for existing titles. Our goal is to place player communities at the heart of Exient’s games, which will feed directly back into our creative and development processes.”
